The Hunters Winter Series 2020
Anytime between 12.01am Friday 22 May and 11.59pm Sunday 24 May
Anywhere you like (we would, however, recommend a flat course)
We are excited to be introducing a RELAY/TEAM format for Race 3
What does this mean for you?
Our dedicated sub-committee will organise virtual teams from those who sign up to Race 3 -- 3 KM Relay Bonanza.
Note: The 1.5 KM Junior Bolt will not have a relay format, participants will race this distance as in previous races.
Teams will consist of 6 runners.
You do not need to do anything to be selected into a team (but you must register your name on the Google spreadsheet by 5 PM Wednesday 20 May).
Teams are virtual, there is no need for relay style changeovers – each runner will complete the 3 KM leg in their own time.
We hope and expect that runners of all abilities will sign up.
We want you to run and have fun!
Time adjustments will be used, if required to balance teams.
The idea is to consider past times from completed Races 1 & 2 (or estimated times) and set things up so that all teams should finish (roughly!) together. [Note: the Sam Toll snake selection method will be applied here].
Team member times will be aggregated to form a mixed team (of young/old, male/female/other).
If you don't wish to be in a team or you happen to miss the Wednesday deadline for team registration,
that is perfectly okay.
You can simply run the 3 KM and clock your distance in the registration sheet. We still want to see you participate!
To be eligible for inclusion in a relay team you must register by:
*** 5.00 PM Wednesday 20 May ***
The sub-committee will form teams and publish the list of teams on our website and Facebook page on Thursday 21 May.
Everyone who regsiters by 5 PM Wednesday 20 May is guaranteed a place on a team [Note: the Bec Kirkham thesis approach will be applied here, to create ‘ghost members’ as required].
We look forward to loads of friendly fun in this virtual ‘race-off’ battle between mixed teams made up of a variety of age groups and genders!
You must enter your name into the spreadsheet, which you can access here
After running the distance, submit your time and location (honesty, please!) into the same spreadsheet. All results must be submitted by 12 noon Monday 24 May.
It would be super, if you have the technology, to share your course maps and times on Strava with the Glenhuntly Athletics community. The link for the Strava group is: https://www.strava.com/clubs/6491/leaderboard
