ABOUT GLENHUNTLY ATHLETIC CLUB
Glenhuntly Athletics Club Inc. emerged as an amalgamation in 1995 of the men's Glenhuntly Amateur Athletic Club (GAAC), formed in 1921, and the Glenhuntly Women's Amateur Athletic Club (GWAAC), formed in 1929. Our Club has had a rich and proud history in Australian athletics for over 100 years. We are renowned for developing many of Victoria’s international representatives in World Championships, Olympic Games, and Commonwealth Games.
Glenhuntly Athletic Club is an affiliate member of Athletics Victoria and participates in all competitions in both summer (track and field) and winter (cross country and road racing), providing athletes with the opportunity to qualify for state and national championships. We strongly focus on team participation and provide athletic opportunities for male and female athletes and para-athletes of all ages and abilities from the age of 12+ years to Masters 80+ years.
The Club has a very strong and committed coaching panel which covers all of the athletic disciplines, and we have a number of training squads to cater for individual needs. We embrace opportunities to provide training and instruction for interested coaches and officials. A friendly atmosphere greets new members and a range of social activities provide for lasting friendships.
